German Chancellor Merkel: There are still big hurdles to clear before a coalition can be formed

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is out with some comments, saying that there are still big hurdles to clear before a coalition can be formed.

The statement followed earlier comments by German Social Democrat Leader Martin Schulz: 
   •  On the last day of exploratory talks we will make clear we need a new start for Europe.
   •  We will make suggestions on how to renew and strengthen cohesion in Europe.
